Liquor & Gaming NSW

Liquor & Gaming NSW has released its latest gaming machine data reports as part of the NSW Government’s ongoing commitment to transparency on gambling activity across the state.

The data reports can be viewed on the Liquor & Gaming NSW and include:

  • Gaming machine numbers and net profit for NSW local government areas (LGA)
  • Net profit rankings for all NSW venues with gaming machines

The latest gaming data reports cover 1 December 2020 to 31 May 2021 for clubs, and 1 January 2021 to 30 June 2021 for hotels.

Net profit figures for the same period last year were significantly impacted by restrictions placed on gaming venues due to the COVID-19 Public Health Orders including the closure of gaming venues for 10 weeks from 23 March to 31 May 2020.

Since 30 June 2011, the number of machines has fallen 7.08% from 94,530 to 87,840.

Compared to the previous six-month period (1 June 2020 to 30 November 2020 for clubs, and 1 July 2020 to 31 December 2020 for hotels):

  • Total gaming machine net profit decreased by 7.54% (down $281,977,455) from $3.74 billion to $3.46 billion.
  • Hotels show a decrease in net profit of 12.78% (down $200,392,139) from $1.57 billion to $1.37 billion.
  • Clubs show a decrease in net profit of 3.76% (down $81,585,316) from $2.17 billion to $2.09 billion.
