Fremantle will be the hottest ticket in town for the WAFL grand final on Sunday – and you don’t need to be at the game to enjoy all the action.
With the showpiece clash between South Fremantle and Claremont shaping as a sell-out, fans who want to lap up the big game atmosphere will still find plenty of footy action around the Port City.
A free live site at Esplanade Reserve will operate from 11am and screen the Colts Grand Final as well as the League final. There will also be a program of family-friendly entertainment and activities, including a special half-time performance by the Australian AC/DC Experience.
Another highlight of the Grand Final activities will be a Fan March along the famous Cappuccino Strip, led by the 2020 WAFLW Premiers Peel, community and junior football clubs and some WAFL legends.
Fans will muster at Pioneer Park near the Fremantle Station at 1.15pm before heading off down the strip at 1.30pm.
Across the weekend Fremantle businesses are being encouraged to fly the colours of the competing teams and offer special footy deals.
On Saturday, fans will be able to hear from the team captains and coaches at the pre-game media conference at the Esplanade Reserve between 11.30am-12.30pm.
There will also be the chance to get up close and personal with the WAFL Premiership Cup and the historic Dixson Cup – the oldest premiership cup in Australian Rules Football history.
Across the weekend Fremantle businesses are being encouraged to fly the colours of the competing teams and offer special footy deals.
