Local Andrea Braun will launch her book Shattered Glass at Mount Gambier Library on Sunday 3 November at 11:00am.
Recounting her personal journey, Andrea tells the story of becoming ‘shattered’ after enduring years of extreme narcissistic abuse, both during and after her marriage ended.
“We are pleased to be able to support local authors, especially in such sensitive, inspirational stories such as this one. We hope the launch of Shattered Glass will inspire the audience and enable anyone who finds themselves in such a situation to feel empowered to remove themselves and realise that they are not alone,” Manager Library and Community Development Georgina Davison said.
Andrea details her emotional journey in a raw and exposed format and speaks on the pain and struggles she endured while in survival mode in the hope of helping others.
“I hope this book will assist others in similar situations to identify what they are experiencing and escape before too much damage is done,” Andrea said.
During the event, Andrea will discuss the process of writing Shattered Glass, the importance of finding your inner strength, and the triumphs she experienced along the way. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session and hear more about the uplifting quotes included in the book which serve as a beacon of hope for those on their own healing journey.
“In Shattered Glass, I will guide you through my own life’s story and show how you can come out at the end regaining your confidence, self-esteem, and a meaningful, happy and contented life,” Andrea said.
The event is free with morning tea and books available for sale and signing at the event. Bookings are required and can be made by contacting Mount Gambier Library on 8721 2540 or book online at under ‘Programs and Events’.
