Local artists add extra flavour to coffee cups

Would you like a hint of Ballarat or Buninyong to go with your takeaway latte?

Then make sure you get in now to pick up your limited-edition coffee cups!

The City of Ballarat has commissioned four local artists to design specialised biodegradable takeaway coffee cups to add flavour to the Federation University Road ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Championships next month.

The limited-edition designs have been printed on takeaway coffee cups to be distributed across Ballarat and Buninyong coffee locations.

The cups are now available at selected hospitality venues in the lead-up to the January event and, depending on availability of stock, throughout the event itself.

The coffee cups are designed to drive visitors into local hospitality venues, with people encouraged to share photos of their limited-edition cups on social media.

The artworks by local artists Kirrily Urquhart, Jenna Oldaker, Roselle Harrison and Jacinta Sullivan all highlight features of Ballarat and Buninyong, showcasing the area as a cycling destination.

City of Ballarat Councillor Daniel Moloney said the coffee cups were another reason to get excited about the five-day cycling event, which will see Australia’s best cyclists converge on the city.

“The Road ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s is an event that continually puts Ballarat on the world map and we couldn’t be more excited about it,” Cr Moloney said.

“Cycling and coffee go hand-in-hand and if you add in the local flavour of the coffee cups, you’re onto a winner.”

The Federation University Road ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Championships will be held in Ballarat, Mt Helen and Buninyong from 6-10 January 2023.
