Investment NSW’s Jobs Plus Program is supporting employment in the post, digital and visual effects (PDV) sector, with the creation of 150 full-time jobs at a Sydney-based production company.
Flying Bark Productions, the company behind Indie-Australian film 100% Wolf and the animation studio responsible for Nickelodeon’s Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Marvel’s What If…? series will benefit from this staffing boost. Another 63 indirect jobs will be created by June 2024.
Enterprise, Investment, and Trade Minister Stuart Ayres said investing in the local expansion of production companies through Jobs Plus supports NSW’s home-grown talent pool and ensures a competitive edge on the international market.
“PDV is thriving in NSW and late last year we expanded our sector rebate to include the digital games industry to drive even more opportunities for companies to locate in the state,” Mr Ayres said.
The Jobs Plus Program provides eligible companies with support, including payroll tax relief, streamlined planning approval, and subsidised training programs, as well as free or subsidised government spaces and accommodation.
Australian businesses that employ 20 or more staff, or international companies with at least 80 employees looking to create a minimum of 30 jobs before June 2024 are eligible to apply for Jobs Plus.
