As part of our Local Government Week activities, Kiama Council has hosted the Local Government Chief Officers Group (LGCOG).
The conference, convened by CEO Jane Stroud, saw top local government professionals from Australia and New Zealand discussing best practices, innovative solutions, and strategic insights.
The agenda included sustainable development, community engagement, technological advancements in local government, and strategies for economic growth.
A particular focus was the financial sustainability of local government globally.
Speakers included Mark Burns (The Man Walk), Paul Smith (Sydney Kings Basketball), Rachel Kent (Bundanon CEO) and Joe Gaudiosi (Kiama Council Chief Operating Officer).
Delegates also visited Shellharbour Airport and Shell Cove Marina to gain operational insights.
The LGCOG was hosted by Kiama Council with the support of Destination Kiama.
