Georges River and Sutherland Shire Councils have joined forces to showcase six emerging bands and performers in south Sydney’s first ever Battle of the Bridges youth music event.
Battle of the Bridges follows the success of youth-focused music events during Youth Week at both Councils. The event aims to provide young musicians and artists in the region with an opportunity to take centre stage and showcase their talents.
Georges River Council Mayor Nick Katris said: “We’re excited to work with Sutherland Shire Council on Battle of the Bridges. This event is a first for the area so I am encouraging everyone to join us as we unite the community in south Sydney and celebrate our talented youth.”
Sutherland Shire Council Mayor Carmelo Pesce said: “We know that the Sutherland Shire is home to some amazing musical talent, with the ‘Battle of the Bridges’ event set to shine the spotlight on the next generation of emerging stars. Council is proud to support opportunities for our future headliners to take to the stage and showcase their musical talents and hopefully build some friendly rivalry with aspiring musos from the other side of Tom Uglys Bridge.”
Event registrations are free but essential. We encourage south Sydney residents to secure entry by registering for what promises to be an electrifying clash of melodies.
South Sydney locals can expect an exciting evening of live performances and original music from the following line-up:
- Spinning Cupids (SSC)
- Jacinta Drumond (GRC)
- Vermanic (SSC)
- Pocketwatch (GRC)
- Sundryver (SSC)
- DOLOR (GRC)
