Twenty-one community projects across Tasmania will receive a total of $350,000 in grants to tackle climate change.
Under the Community Climate Change Action Grant Program, projects will receive between $2,000 and $20,000 to raise awareness about climate change, reduce emissions, and build resilience.
Minister for the Environment, Madeleine Ogilvie, has congratulated the recipients, highlighting the importance of local action.
“Some of the best ideas to adapt to climate change come from the community, so these grants will empower locals to drive action.
“Recipients include energy efficiency initiatives, climate change education programmes and projects that build resilience to the impacts of climate change.
“Everyone can play a role in our goal to achieve net zero, or lower, emissions by 2030, a key part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future,” Minister Ogilvie said.
