Localised Connection Points now rolling out to improve access to Shire

Your Local Connection Points

Mornington Peninsula Shire is ready to welcome the community to its ‘Your Local Connection Points,’ with three sites rolling out under this new initiative starting this week.

This initiative aims to transform community interaction with Shire services, providing more convenient access and ensuring a positive, supportive experience for all.

These hubs are strategically located within smaller townships alongside existing community and visitor services, offering greater convenience and improved customer experience through personalised face-to-face interactions. They complement the main offices in Mornington, Rosebud, and Hastings.

Each hub is staffed by dedicated Shire team members, who assist with a wide range of Shire-related customer needs, from general enquiries and service advice to form submissions and EFTPOS payments.

Additionally, selected locations provide shared spaces for meetings with Shire staff or participation in planned community consultations on local matters.

Your Local Connection Points are located at:

  • Somerville Library: Extended service, open Monday to Friday, 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.
  • Dromana – Mornington Peninsula Visitor Information Centre: New service open every Wednesday, 10am to 4pm.
  • Sorrento Community Centre: New service open every Friday, 9am to 5pm.

(Excluding public holidays)

The Shire plans to expand to more sites in the future, including Red Hill later this year.

The community is encouraged to provide feedback on the Local Connection Points initiative, regardless of whether they have used the services or not. Feedback forms are available at the hubs or can be accessed through the Shire’s website.

Stay tuned for upcoming community events to celebrate the initiative launch at each site.
