In preparation for the upcoming summer weather and the predicted hot weather forecast for Monday 16 December 2024, we’ve identified a list of cooling centres across the region for use by the community.
The Greater Shepparton community is advised to prepare for hot weather on Monday, which is currently forecast as an ‘Extreme’ Fire Danger Rating day. To remain informed on the local fire danger ratings, and Total Fire Ban Declarations, visit and look for the North Country Forecast District (which includes Greater Shepparton).
Residents are urged to stay informed and take necessary precautions to stay safe in the heat, including staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat times, and checking on vulnerable family, friends, and neighbours. In addition, Council advises residents to monitor updates regarding potential service closures or changes to operations due to fire danger ratings.
