Residents of Lockington and the surrounding areas, it’s your time to tell Council about your ambitions for your district. The Lockington & District Place Based Plan consultation period has begun, and the community is invited to share their ideas and insights to help shape the future of Lockington & District.
A crowd gathered at the Lockington Plumbers Shed on Thursday 11 July for morning tea at the official launch of the engagement period for the future Lockington & District Place Based Plan.
Campaspe Shire Council Mayor, Cr Rob Amos said the coming weeks are an opportunity for community members in Lockington and surrounding areas to contribute their ideas to the future Place Based Plan.
“We’re excited about the launch of the engagement process and are looking forward to collaborating with the community on their vision for the future of Lockington and district areas.
“Throughout the next 6 weeks Council and the Place Based Plan Committee will be proactive in reaching out to groups and individuals to participate,” Mayor Amos said.
Community members are invited to come along to Lockington General Store and Lockington Recreation Reserve in the coming weeks to share their aspirations for their district.
Director Communities, Jo Bradshaw said that Council officers as well as the Place Based Planning Committee will be available for people to come and share their ideas in person
“For those who can’t make the in-person sessions, we also have options to provide feedback via an online or hard copy survey so that everyone can be involved,” Ms Bradshaw said.
Residents are encouraged to visit the Lockington Business Centre if they would like a hard copy survey or assistance to complete the online version.
The pop-up session details are as follows:
- Wednesday, 31 July at the Lockington Supermarket from 11am – 2pm
- Saturday, 10 August at the Lockington Rec Reserve from 11am – 3pm
Councillor for Western Ward, Cr Leanne Pentreath encouraged the entire community to be involved.

“Every voice matters, and every idea counts. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or new to the area, your input is valued,” Cr Pentreath said.
