The Logan community is invited to visit the Logan Art Gallery on Saturday, June 1 for a fun-filled day of textile art activities.
The free Textile Extravaganza and Family Fun Day is from 10am to 2pm at the gallery on the corner of Wembley Rd and Jacaranda Ave, Logan Central.
Visitors can enjoy drop-in workshops with exhibiting artists including:
* Chrys Zantis in the ‘Mindfulness knitting circle’. Participants can help the circle grow with knitting, crocheting, fringing or pompoms
* Therese Flynn-Clarke’s creation of a giant woven fish outdoors, using random weave techniques
* Charlotte Haywood’s collaborative work on a full-size tapestry loom
The day will also feature artists’ demonstrations, textile art activities, face painting and a bouncing castle.
The Creative Markets featuring crafts, handmade clothes and sweets will also operate in the gallery grounds throughout the day.
Visitors can also listen to live music and enjoy delicious food and drinks from the stalls.
