As budding sports stars begin to dream of representing their country at the 2032 Olympic and Paralympics in South East Queensland, the City of Logan is getting ready to honour its sporting talent.

Nominations are open for the 2023 City of Logan Sports Awards.

The annual event recognises the achievements of elite athletes, officials, and coaches from across the city.

Lifestyle Chair Cr Tony Hall encouraged the community to nominate a sporting champion.

“Logan has a reputation as a passionate sporting city,” Cr Hall said.

“We are a community that is always proud of our sporting stars, whether they represent the city at a local, national or international level.

“The Sports Awards is an annual opportunity to recognise the achievements of our elite athletes, and hard work of the coaches and officials that keep our community clubs going.”

Support for grassroots sporting clubs and facilities featured in the recently adopted Logan City Council 2023/24 Budget.

Council allocated $17 million over the next three years to upgrading and improving sporting infrastructure.

Nominations for the 2023 City of Logan Sports Awards close on Thursday August 17.

Winners will be announced at the Sports Awards gala on Saturday, October 28 at the Logan Entertainment Centre.
