Macquarie Asset Management has today announced the appointment of Susana Leith-Smith as a Senior Managing Director to support its infrastructure and real asset investment activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Susana joins Macquarie Asset Management to support the origination and structuring of capital markets transactions related to the firm’s diverse portfolio of infrastructure and real asset investments, and to provide senior representation on select portfolio company boards. Based in London and reporting to Macquarie Asset Management’s Head of Real Assets in EMEA Martin Bradley, Susana will be part of a global team focused on capital markets and will draw on her deep knowledge of leveraged finance to deepen banking relationships for the business.

Susana brings to the role 23 years of leveraged finance experience and joins Macquarie Asset Management from Barclays where she was most recently a Managing Director and Head of Leveraged Finance in Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining Barclays, Susana was a Director of Loan and High Yield Capital Markets at Royal Bank of Scotland. Susana has also previously held positions in leveraged finance at Credit Suisse. Susana is a board member at Womankind Worldwide, a charity focused on the advancement of women’s rights worldwide.
