Across the Northern Territory, 250 junior doctors will commence at NT Health hospitals this year, including at Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital, Katherine Hospital, Gove District Hospital, Alice Springs Hospital and Tennant Creek Hospital.
The cohort will be made up of both Resident Medical Officers, junior doctors who have obtained full registration after completing least one year of clinical experience, and interns, those who are undertaking their first year of clinical practice after completing their medical degree.
To further boost the Territory’s clinical workforce, NT Health has launched a new clinical recruitment campaign.
The campaign aims to attract medical, nursing and allied health staff from across Australia and internationally, targeting health care professionals in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Singapore and New Zealand.
The campaign will see an improved applicant journey and experience with a dedicated single point of contact to manage each applicant enquiry. This unique and streamlined approach will be a key point of difference for the NT Health recruitment campaign, compared to similar initiatives developed by other agencies and jurisdictions.
The NT Health recruitment campaign is being supported through a range of collaborations, including with the NT Primary Health Network (PHN) to provide potential candidates with a range of unique and diverse health career options in the Territory.
The Territory Labor Government is investing $12.8 million towards the Northern Territory workforce boost initiative to fill critical skill shortages, targeting domestic and international markets.
