Today, Major Crime Detectives were assisted by crime scene investigators from the Forensic Response Section, Forensic Science SA and a recruit course from the Police Academy to search the Uleybury Landfill after receiving information regarding the location of the remains of Geoffrey McLean.
The landfill site on Smith Road has been examined by detectives and forensic investigators, with rubbish being sorted through to try and locate Mr Mclean’s remains.
On Monday 20 March, Major Crime detectives investigating the murder, arrested a 51-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman both from the northern suburbs.
They were both charged with murder.
Detective Superintendent Des Bray, officer in charge of Major Crime Investigation Branch says the search for Mr McLean’s remains is of continuing importance to his loved ones.
“Police will continue to search for Geoff’s remains so that his family and loved ones can farewell him in the right way”, Detective Superintendent Bray said.
