Tasmania’s export sector is in the spotlight again, with the announcement of the 2024 Tasmanian Export Awards major partner, TasPorts.
For the fourth consecutive year, TasPorts has been announced as the major partner for these prestigious awards, which highlight the vital role of exporters in driving the state’s economy.
Premier and Minister for Trade, Jeremy Rockliff said the Tasmanian export sector continues to shine despite global volatility, with goods exports reaching almost $6 billion in 2022-23.
“The Tasmanian Export Awards provide a vital platform to showcase the excellence of our exporters and the individuals and businesses that are taking Tasmanian products to the world,” Premier Rockliff said.
“We know Tasmania has what the world wants, and we are continuing our laser focus on the export sector through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, committing $3.6 million to support additional trade activities.
“Every year 99 per cent of Tasmania’s freight travels through TasPorts’ multi-port network, connecting businesses to the mainland and international markets.
“TasPorts has a unique understanding of the critical role exporters play in keeping Tasmania’s economy strong, and we are grateful for their continued support of the Tasmanian Export Awards.”
TasPorts CEO Anthony Donald said TasPorts was delighted to continue its role as the Major Awards Partner, as well as offering our support to the Emerging Exporter Category.
“The export industry in Tasmania continues to thrive as a dynamic and forward-thinking sector and we are honoured to support Tasmanian exporters through our extensive multi-port network,” Mr Donald said.
This year, for the first time the winner of the Tasmanian Exporter of the Year award will receive access to a grant of up to $10,000, to attend an international trade show or event, or join a Tasmanian Government trade mission.
The awards feature 13 national categories, with winners competing against their counterparts in other states and territories at the national awards.
Joining TasPorts in sponsoring these awards are:
