Western Road Policing Services was out in full force on the West Coast yesterday, running traffic operations across several locations to keep our roads safe.
Inspector Adam Spencer said five separate traffic operations were held over a 4.5 hour period around the Ridgley, Murchison Highway, Tullah, Henty Road and Zeehan areas.
“During these checks, officers carried out 105 random breath tests and six roadside drug tests, with two drivers testing positive for illicit drugs,” he said.
“Police also caught six speeding drivers and one disqualified driver, found one uninsured and unregistered vehicle, and issued two vehicle defect notices.”
“Police are out on the roads to make sure everyone stays safe and follows the rules.”
“Unfortunately the number of issues we found shows we still have work to do.”
“Thankfully, most people are driving responsibly, but these operations help us catch up with those who aren’t.”
“We’ll keep up the high-visibility patrols to encourage everyone to follow the road rules and stay safe.”
