Snowy Monaro Regional Council has delivered a significant upgrade to Avonside Road, with six kilometres of previously unsealed road now sealed and paved.
This transformation of Avonside Road from a rough unsealed surface in December 2022 to today’s high-quality sealed road was made possible thanks to generous grant funding received through the NSW Government’s Fixing Local Roads Program.
Council completed this project within the approved scope, timeframe, and budget set by Transport for NSW. Before and after photos demonstrate the substantial improvement achieved through this road upgrade.
Council’s focus on infrastructure continues with more road renewal and upgrade projects planned for 2024. Still to come this year is significant work on Mila Road, Shannons Flat Road and Dry Plains Road.
Over the course of the past twelve months, Council has invested approximately $20million into enhanced roads and services across the Snowy Monaro region thanks to the NSW Government’s support.
The completion of the Avonside Road upgrade is another example of Council’s commitment to delivering crucial infrastructure improvements for the local community. Residents and businesses will now enjoy the benefits of this safe and modern roadway.
