New facilities at Mount Lawley Senior High School, including a 20-classroom block and modern STEM learning areas, are officially open.

Completion of the new two-storey building delivers on a significant WA Labor Government election commitment and provides additional permanent classroom accommodation for up to 500 students, increasing the school’s capacity from approximately 1,700 to 2,200 students.

Premier Roger Cook and Education Minister Dr Tony Buti today visited the impressive 20 general classrooms, STEM facilities and staff areas, which will benefit students, staff and local families.

The new building includes a space used for robotics and technologies and a digital studio for graphics and media production programs.

Along with its Gifted and Talented academic program, Mount Lawley Senior High School has an excellent music program and specialist visual and performing arts program.

Delivery of these facilities continues the Cook Labor Government’s commitment to providing education facilities for the growing number of families living in and around the inner-city, including Bob Hawke College, an innovative new modular classroom block for Highgate Primary School and the new East Perth Primary School, which is expected to open in 2029.
