  • Ocean Reef Marina community event on November 22, 10am to 4pm
  • Local residents are invited to an Ocean Reef Marina community event on Sunday, November 22 to find out the latest information and celebrate the start of construction on the landmark project.

The event will provide community members with the opportunity to speak to the project team about the marina plans and works underway, as well as enjoy fun activities for the whole family.

The next level of landscape design will also be on display, including plans for the marina’s public spaces and interface with the surrounding bushland.

Families will be able to enjoy eco-crafts, indigenous art, a fishing simulator, face painting and many more fun activities.

Construction of the highly anticipated marina commenced in August, beginning with early ground works to enable the creation of the marine infrastructure and public amenities.

Ocean Reef Marina is expected to create 8,600 jobs during construction, with more than 900 ongoing jobs once complete.

It will ultimately include capacity for up to 550 boat pens and 200 boat stackers, 12,000sqm of retail and commercial floorspace and more than five hectares of community spaces.

The McGowan Government has now committed $126.5 million in funding for the marina over the life of the project.

This State Government project is being delivered by DevelopmentWA, in collaboration with the City of Joondalup.

The Ocean Reef Marina community event will take place at the Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club on November 22, from 10am to 4pm.

The event will be conducted in line with Western Australia’s COVID-19 restrictions, under an approved COVID Event Plan.
