A man has been arrested following an investigation into the serious assault of man in Sydney’s west yesterday.
Just after 8pm (Tuesday, 5 November), emergency services were called to a licenced premises on Merriville Road, Kellyville Ridge, following reports of an assault.
On arrival, officers attached to Riverstone Police Area Command were told a man had allegedly punched a 55-year-old man, before leaving the scene prior to police attending.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man before he was taken to Westmead Hospital with critical injuries, where he remains in a critical condition.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
Detectives from Riverstone Police Area Command established Strike Force Sestao to investigate the circumstances surrounding the assault, assisted by detectives from The Hills Police Area Command and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
Following inquiries, a 43-year-old man was arrested about 9.15am today ( Wednesday 6 November 2024), at a home on Golding Drive, Glendenning.
He was taken to Riverstone Police Station and is assisting police with inquiries.
