A 19-year-old Gracemere man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle after allegedly stealing a black Dodge RAM on Saturday, February 10.
The black Dodge RAM is alleged to have been stolen from an Oscadia Way address on Friday evening, February 7.
Around 9.45pm on February 8, police were called to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Rockonia Road and Thozet Road involving the alleged stolen vehicle.
The driver of a silver Nissan Dualis involved in the crash sustained minor injuries and was transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital. The passenger was not physically injured.
The driver of the alleged stolen vehicle fled the scene prior to police and emergency services arriving.
Following investigations, police arrested a 19-year-old Gracemere man on Monday, February 10.
A 19-year-old man has been charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle.
His bail has been refused and is due to appear before Rockhampton Magistrates Court today, February 11.
Investigations are ongoing.
