Police have today charged a man in relation to an attack on a young family at a petrol station in Huntingdale on 17 March.
Earlier this morning, detectives arrested a 47-year-old man from Clayton South in relation to the incident, where he is alleged to have kicked and punched a vehicle containing a pregnant woman.
During the alleged attack, which occurred while the woman’s husband and five-year-old son were paying for petrol, the offender allegedly threatened to kill the pregnant woman if she didn’t open the car door.
The man then left shortly afterwards on a motorbike.
He has been charged with making threats to kill, criminal damage, disqualified driving, riding an unregistered vehicle, and committing indicatable offences while on bail. He has been remanded in relation to these charges and will appear at Moorabbin Magistrates Court on 12 April.
The 47-year-old male was also charged in relation to a separate assault on a 19-year-old male in Clayton on 23 March, as well as an unrelated home burglary.
He has been charged with common law assault, unlawful assault, aggravated burglary, theft, and trespass in relation to these incidents.
