A man will face court today, charged with more than 100 alleged intimidation, telecommunications and vandalism offences in the Southern Highlands.
Earlier this month, officers attached to The Hume Police District established Strike Force Crony to investigate videos posted online which are alleged to have been threatening and offensive.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 43-year-old man at Bowral Railway Station about 7.30am on Friday 24 February 2023.
Officers then executed a search warrant at a unit on Purcell Street, Bowral, seizing a computer tablet alleged to contain offensive videos.
The man was taken to Southern Highlands Police Station where he was charged with 108 offences, including;
- Destroy or damage property (graffiti) (59 counts)
- Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal) (27 counts)
- Use carriage service to menace/harass/offend (12 counts)
- Contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (six counts)
- Use carriage service to threat to kill (three counts), and,
- Fail to comply with reporting obligations (one count).
The Bowral man appeared in Wollongong Local Court on Saturday 25 February 2023, where he was formally refused bail to appear in Moss Vale Local Court today (Monday 13 March 2023).
Police will allege in court that the man vandalised almost 60 private and public properties with distinctive graffiti and posted more than 160 offensive videos online.
