Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man with a string of offences after he was allegedly found in a stolen vehicle with ammunition, drugs and stolen goods in Windsor yesterday morning.
Police observed the stolen BMW on Chapel Street about 2.10am on Thursday, 23 February.
The vehicle allegedly turned around then collided into a footpath barrier and seating.
There were no injuries.
Police searched the vehicle and located an imitation handgun, ammunition, a sword and drugs.
Allegedly stolen property, including two laptops, jewellery and designer handbags were also located and seized.
The 51-year-oLd man of no fixed place of abode was arrested at the scene.
He’s been charged with 35 offences including two counts of burglary theft of motor vehicle, driving whilst disqualified, possessing an imitation firearm, possess a controlled weapon, drugs offences, four counts of theft and 11 counts of committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.
The charges relate to alleged incidents that occurred in Malvern, Elwood and Toorak in December 2022 and January 2023.
He was remanded and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
