A man will face court today after he was charged with alleged domestic violence assaults on two people in Sydney’s north.
Emergency services were called to a home on Steven Street, Pennant Hills, after 12.30pm Wednesday (27 November 2024), following a report of a domestic violence incident.
Officers attached to The Hills Police Area Command were told a 73-year-old man had a verbal argument with a woman known to him before he allegedly pushed her onto the ground.
Police will allege in court the man attempted to suffocate the woman; struck her multiple times in the face and threatened her.
The man also allegedly punched another man known to him in the face.
Police arrested the 73-year-old man before he was taken to Westmead Hospital for precautionary reasons under police guard.
He was taken to Castle Hill Police Station upon his release from hospital yesterday (Thursday 28 November 2024).
The man was charged with attempt to strangle/suffocate with intent to murder (DV); intentionally choke person without consent (DV); stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (domestic); assault occasion actual bodily harm (DV) and common assault (DV).
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Friday 29 November 2024).
