A man has been charged with domestic violence-related offences following an investigation in the state’s Central West.
On Thursday 29 August 2024, officers attached to Central West Police District commenced an investigation after a 26-year-old woman attended a hospital in Parkes for treatment of injuries to her face and neck.
Police were told between 8am and 10am on Sunday 24 August 2024, a man – who is known to the woman – grabbed her around the throat following an argument at a home on Forbes Street, Trundle.
About 11pm on Wednesday 28 August 2024, following an argument, the man allegedly grabbed the woman by the face and threw an object at her, hitting her left cheek.
When she attempted to leave, the man allegedly placed his hands around her neck and prevented her from leaving.
Following inquiries, about 3.50pm yesterday (Friday 30 August 2024), police attended a home on Matthews Avenue, Orange and arrested a 37-year-old man.
He was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with intentionally choke person without consent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and stalk / intimidate intend fear physical harm.
He was refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court today (Saturday 31 August 2024), where he was formally refused bail and will reappear before Orange Local Court on Monday 2 September 2024.
