A man has died following a collision in Ballarat on 31 December 2019.

It is believed a man on an electronic scooter collided with a car on Lydiard Street at the intersection of Mair Street about 9.40am.

The 83-year-old Ballarat man was transported to hospital for observation and later died in his home on 6 January 2020.

The driver of the car, a 40-year-old Sebastopol woman, was uninjured and stopped at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing.
