A man has died following a crash in the state’s north west.
About 10pm yesterday (Wednesday 13 November 2024), emergency services were called to Carnarvon Highway, Ashley, about 18km north of Moree, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.
Officers attached to New England Police Area Command arrived at the scene and found both cars had rolled.
Emergency services rendered first aid but a man died at the scene.
The man is yet to be formally identified, however, is believed to be aged 27.
A passenger inside the car was uninjured and he was taken to Moree Hospital for observation.
The 74-year-old male driver of the other car was also uninjured.
He was taken to Moree Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene has been established and officers attached to New England Police District are investigating the incident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
The Carnarvon Highway Ashley remains closed in both directions.
