A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in the state’s northern tablelands yesterday.
About 5.25pm yesterday (Sunday 7 August 2022), emergency services responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on the Gwydir Highway near Matheson.
The driver – a 85-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Armidale Hospital and airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he later died.
Officers attached to New England Police District were notified of the incident and commenced inquiries.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
