Man dies after stabbing in Orange

A man has died after a stabbing in the state’s Central West early this morning.

Emergency services were called to a house on Romano Drive, Orange, just after 3am (Saturday 2 March 2019), after reports of a physical altercation between two men, who were known to each other.

On arrival, a 20-year-old man was found unresponsive with a stab wound to his chest.

Officers from Central West Police District performed CPR on the man; however, when NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived, he was declared deceased at the scene.

A second man, aged 26, fled the area in a Holden Commodore before officers arrived.

Local police are currently searching the surrounding the area and have since located the vehicle on Clinton Street, unattended.

A crime scene has been established at both locations which will be examined by specialist police.

Investigations are continuing with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

No arrests have been made.
