Emergency services responded to reports a tree had fallen on a vehicle in Gellibrand on 28 August.
It’s believed the vehicle was travelling along Main Road near Berrys Road around 1.30pm when the tree fell on the car, trapping both occupants.
The male driver has died at the scene, the female passenger has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.
Both are yet to be formally identified and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
