A man has died following a workplace incident in the state’s north west.
About 1.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 12 December 2023), emergency services were called to the Kamilaroi Highway, about 60km south of Walgett, following reports a man had been struck by a truck at a worksite.
Officers attached to Central North Police District attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, however, the man – aged 40 – died at the scene.
The driver – a 22-year-old man – was taken to Walgett District Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established, and an investigation has commenced into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
SafeWork NSW have been notified.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
