A man will appear in court today charged with outstanding warrants after being extradited from Queensland yesterday.
Police will allege on Friday 30 August 2019, a Mitsubishi Triton utility stolen from Ballina was involved in a pursuit with officers from Richmond Police District, where a police vehicle was rammed causing extensive damage.
On Friday 11 October 2019, police were involved in a pursuit with a stolen Toyota Landcruiser, which was terminated due to the dangerous manner of driving. The vehicle was recovered and searched later that day, where police located and seized a firearm and ammunition.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives travelled to Queensland on Wednesday 30 October 2019 and arrested a 27-year-old man with the assistance of Queensland Police.
On Friday 1 November 2019, the man was extradited from Queensland and taken to Lismore Police Station.
He was charged with three outstanding warrants for the charges of receive stolen property out the state of NSW, police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously (x2), drive recklessly/manner dangerous, drive/take conveyance without consent of owner, breach intensive corrections order, predatory driving, possess unregistered firearm and possess ammunition.
The man was refused bail to appear before Lismore Bail Court today (Saturday 2 November 2019).
