Two men are in custody and detectives have commenced an investigation following the fatal stabbing of a man in Sydney’s west overnight.
Just after 12.30am (Sunday 24 May 2020), emergency services were called to a home on Langton Street, Riverstone, after reports of a home invasion.
Police have been told a group of males entered the home and stabbed a male occupant, before fleeing the scene.
A 40-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died a short time later.
Two other female occupants were uninjured.
Officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist forensic police.
A perimeter was established, and a search of the surrounding area commenced, with assistance from PolAir, the Dog Unit and the Public Order and Riot Squad.
A short time later, two males were arrested nearby on Regent Street and taken to Riverstone Police Station.
