Man in court charged over affray in Bondi car park, NSW

A man will re-appear in court today charged by Strike Force Raptor detectives following an investigation into an alleged affray in Sydney’s east last year.

Just after 5pm on Thursday 14 March 2019, two men – aged 40 and 44 – were involved in a verbal argument at a shopping centre on Oxford Street, Bondi Junction.

When the men entered the carpark, the younger man allegedly punched the older man to the head several times, kicked him in the face and punched him in the throat before leaving the area.

Members of the community called security, who provided assistance to the injured man, before he also left the area.

The incident was reported to police and an investigation commenced by the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor.

Following extensive inquiries, a 40-year-old man was arrested at Sydney International Airport about 8.45am on Thursday 6 February 2020.

The Vaucluse man was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with affray.

He appeared at Central Local Court on Thursday 6 February 2020, where he was granted strict conditional bail to re-appear at Waverley Local Court today (Thursday 19 March 2020).
