Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a serious collision in Preston early this morning.
A truck and car with five occupants have collided at the intersection of Bell and Albert streets about 1.40am.
A male passenger in the car has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Two other passengers, a man and woman, have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The male driver and another male passenger have been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The male truck driver was not injured.
There are expected to be extensive traffic delays while investigators examine the crash scene.
Bell Street is closed between Victoria Street and Chifley Drive.
Albert Street is closed between Gower Street and Raglan Street.
