Investigations are underway after a man suffered serious head injuries during a fight outside a licensed premise in the state’s Central West yesterday.
About 10.30pm on Saturday 7 March 2020, officers from Chifley Police District were called to a hotel Kendal Street, Cowra after reports of a fight between a number of patrons.
On arrival officers located a 23-year-old man outside the hotel suffering significant head injuries. He was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital suffering a possible brain injury, facial fractures and lacerations.
Officers commenced investigations and were told a fight broke out inside the hotel between the 23-year-old, his friend aged 24, and a man not known to them.
Security staff escorted the two friends out the back entrance of the establishment, and the unknown man was taken out the front.
The three men have come together on the street outside and another fight took place resulting in the younger man suffering significant injuries.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing for assistance to locate a man who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries. He has been only been described as wearing a pink and black football T-shirt and may have been part of a football carnival that was held in Cowra that weekend.
Anyone who may have witnessed the assault, and has not yet spoken to police, should contact detectives at Cowra Police Station, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
