A man’s body has been retrieved from a river in the state’s far south.
About 1.30pm yesterday (Thursday 9 January 2020) emergency services received reports a man failed to resurface after entering the Undowah River in Bibbenluke, west of Bega.
Officers from Monaro Police District attended and established a crime scene.
Earlier today (Friday 10 January 2020) police divers were able to enter the water and retrieved the body of a man – believed to be aged 48.
The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious or bushfire related.
Inquiries are continuing and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
