Police are investigating an assault and theft of a car at Marden on Monday and are calling for any witnesses to come forward.

Between 4.45pm and 5pm on Monday 8 April, a man was sitting in his car in the carpark of the Marden Shopping Centre on Payneham Road when two men approached him and got into his car. One man who sat in the front passenger seat produced a small knife and demanded the victim’s car, wallet and tools.
During the incident, the victim sustained a small puncture wound to his back which was medically treated.
One suspect then drove off in the victim’s silver 1996 Nissan Pulsar, SA Registration VUR310, containing his wallet, mobile phone and work tools.
This suspect is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late teens to early 20’s, clean shaven with a stocky build. He was wearing a black or dark grey hoodie and track pants.
The second man is believed to have left the scene in a white Holden commodore, possibly a VE SV6 or SS sedan. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late teens or early 20’s and was wearing a black hoodie and track pants.
Detectives from Eastern District CIB are investigating and have reviewed CCTV in the area which shows that the two suspects may have been in company with three other men. These three men, along with the second suspect, left in the Holden Commodore sedan as stated above as well as a black Holden Astra sedan. Images of these vehicles are included below along with images of the two suspects.
Detectives urge anyone who witnessed the incident, recognises the people or car in the images or who was in the area at the time and has dashcam footage, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
