Police are investigating a home invasion that’s left a man in hospital with a stab wound in the state’s Southern Region today.
About 3.30am (Friday 16 October 2020), a 39-year-old man was woken by a noise coming from inside his Halloran Drive, Jerrabomberra home.
He left his bedroom to investigate and was confronted by a man described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 20s, about 180cm tall with a solid build and wearing a black hoodie and track pants.
The man produced a knife and stabbed the occupant in the abdomen before running from the home.
Emergency services were called, and police from Monaro Police District attended and commenced an investigation.
The occupant was taken to Woden Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
An initial search of the crime scene indicates the occupant’s wallet may have been stolen during the break-in.
As inquiries continue, police would like to speak with anyone who may have information that could assist.
