Man sustains serious head injuries at Surfers Paradise, QLD

Three men are in police custody after a 33-year-old Labrador man sustained serious head injuries in a park at Surfers Paradise in the early hours of this morning.

Around 1.30am the man was leaving a toilet block at a park on Ferny Avenue when he was involved in a verbal argument with a group of men. The confrontation escalated, and the man was punched and kicked to the head when he was on the ground.

The man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with serious head injuries.

Police located three men, aged 19, 21 and 26 in Orchid Avenue at Surfers Paradise a short time later.

Police investigations are ongoing.
