A man will face court today charged following an ongoing investigation into the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in Sydney’s south.
In June 2021, officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command established Strike Force Kath to investigate the street-level supply of cocaine in the Sutherland Shire.
Following extensive inquiries, about 6.20pm yesterday (Friday 1 October 2021) police arrested a man parked in a Toyota Corolla Hatchback on Judd Street, Cronulla, after an alleged drug deal with an undercover officer.
After a subsequent search of the Corolla, officers seized seven bags of cocaine and almost $2000 in cash.
The man, aged 23, was arrested and taken to Sutherland Police Station.
A short time later a search warrant was executed at a unit in The Crescent, Yagoona, with the assistance of Bass Hill Region Enforcement Squad.
Among the items seized by officers was 64g of cocaine, $11,700 in cash, two vials of steroids, a quantity of cannabis and a Suzuki GXSR1000 motorcycle.
The man was charged with five counts of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, two counts possess/attempt to prescribed restricted substance, two counts knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, supply prohibited drugs small and indictable quantity, supply prohibited drug indictable and commercial quantity, and possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 2 October 2021).
