A man will face court today charged with outstanding arrest warrants for alleged domestic violence-related incidents in the state’s north-west.
Officers attached to Central North Police District commenced an investigation following reports of two domestic violence-related incidents on Sunday 8 September and Wednesday 11 September 2024 at Bourke.
A man and woman were involved in a verbal altercation on both occasions before the man assaulted and burnt the woman with hot water, before stealing her phone.
Following inquiries, about 2pm yesterday (Monday 16 September 2024), police attended a home on Harris Street, Bourke, and arrested a 31-year-old man.
He was taken to Bourke Police Station where police executed two outstanding arrest warrants for robbery, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (domestic), assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), two counts of common assault (DV), and larceny.
The man was refused bail to appear at Bourke Local Court today (Tuesday 17 September 2024).
