Commissioner Judy O’Connell and Member for Footscray Katie Hall met with Maribyrnong City Council CEO Stephen Wall and Mayor Cr Sarah Carter in Footscray yesterday to formalise the council’s pledge.
In signing the initiative’s Charter, Maribyrnong City Council has committed to a range of measures including supporting local business networks, paying small businesses promptly and helping to manage impacts to trade caused by infrastructure works.
The Charter signing builds on including the council’s Business Concierge, where one point of contact guides you through the new business registration application processes from start to finish.
Over 7,400 local businesses in Maribyrnong City stand to benefit from this new pledge across industries including transport, construction, retail and healthcare.
Maribyrnong City Council is the 38th council to join the initiative across Victoria. It joins neighbouring councils that have also signed up including Moonee Valley, Moreland, Yarra, Wyndham, Melton and Hume.
