The Mascot Library and George Hanna Memorial Museum is set to open on Saturdays as part of a Council run trial in the new year that will seek community feedback before a final decision is made.
The trial to open the Mascot Library on Saturdays from 9am – 12noon is expected to start on Saturday 6 January 2024 and run until Saturday 29 June 2024.
Pre-covid, Mascot Library and George Hanna Museum operated on Saturdays from 10am-1pm and visitor statistics indicated an average of 373 visits per month on Saturdays.
During the six-month trial Council will closely monitor visitor numbers as well as ask for customer feedback.
Council’s main libraries at Eastgardens and Rockdale are open seven days a week all year except for public holidays.
