Master Builders Launches Cairns Federal Election Ad Blitz

Election Ad Blitz Launched In Townsville

Opposing Labor’s policies to abolish The Australian Building and Construction Commission (ABCC).

Opposing Labor’s policies to double capital gains tax and restrict negative gearing.

Master Builders today launches its Federal Election advertising blitz in Cairns telling Labor not to let construction union bullies win and to keep the Australian Building and Construction Commission (ABCC).

“The Cairns community will be heavily negatively impacted by Labor’s policy to double capital gains tax and restrict negative gearing with 15% of taxpaying population in Leichhardt are negative gears,” Denita, CEO of Master Builders Australia said.

“Every day small business people and tradies and bullied by the CFMMEU and other construction unions in Cairns,” Denita Wawn, CEO of Master Builders Australia.

“Our members tell the us the CFMMEU and other other construction union bullies have ramped up their bullying tactics in Cairns and that’s why we are launching our campaign in Cairns,” she said.

“We are calling people in Cairns not to let the union bullies win their community and to tell Labor to keep the construction watchdog to crack down on the construction union bullies,”

“Bullying is not tolerated in the community so why so it should it allowed on construction sites? It’s time to take a stand in the face of CFMMEU and other construction union bullies,” Denita Wawn said.

“The community will pay 30 per cent more stadiums and other community infrastructure thanks to union bullying. Why should the community pay the price for CFMMEU and other construction union bullying,” she said.

“The building and construction industry makes a huge contribution to the Cairns community. Nearly 10 per cent of total employment is provided by the industry – that’s more than 6000 jobs and nearly 1500 small building businesses help underpin the local economy,” Denita Wawn said.

“That’s why it’s so important that construction union bullies don’t win in this community and that Labor listens to the nation’s second large industry and keeps the ABCC,” she said.

“Labor’s policy to double capital gains tax and restrict negative gearing will also negatively impact around 16,000 people in Cairns and the Electorate of Leichhardt. This is 20% of the all the taxpayers in the Electorate of Leicchardt ” Denita Wawn said.

“Independent economic modelling by Cadence Economics shows that Labor’s policies will lead to less new homes being built and less new jobs being created in the Cairns community. Now is not the right time to suck investment and jobs out of the local housing industry by doubling capital gains tax and restricting negative gearing,” Denita Wawn said.

“Master Builders advertising campaign is all about standing up for Cairns builders and the local community and saying Don’t the Bullies Win Keep the ABCC and don’t suck investment and jobs out of the local community by doubling capital gains tax and restricting negative gearing,” Denita Wawn said.
