Join Demi Moore, Penélope Cruz, Gia Coppola and Wim Wenders for an exciting digital conversation series to celebrate the 77th Venice International Film Festival
August 31, 2020 – Mastercard, main sponsor of the 77th Venice International Film Festival – La Biennale di Venezia (September 2 – 12), and proud supporter of cinematic magic, new talent, different perspectives and new adventures – invites cinema lovers, students and enthusiasts to join an exclusive virtual conversation series in partnership with La Biennale di Venezia with some of the most influential talents in modern cinema. Together, we will discover how stories told by great filmmakers can create an impact that lasts far beyond the film itself.
A passion for cinema opens our eyes to new worlds, new issues and new challenges. Those who create the magic on screen have the unique ability to show us life from a new perspective that can take us on a new journey or allow us to revisit familiar places in new ways. How these stories are made, enjoyed and experienced – changes based on the creative lens that starts the journey to the environment in which they are enjoyed. And unlike any other art form, the majesty of film invites and enables us to see life through a different lens.
As we navigate a changed environment, cinema has an even richer role to play.
Join us and Demi Moore, Penélope Cruz, Gia Coppola and Wim Wenders who will share their thoughts on how great cinema can drive different perspectives, trigger myriad emotions and influence our lives from the moment the film begins.
Alongside these new perspectives and insights, cinema has the power to connect us through shared experiences, shared emotions and shared adventures. In our “Life Through a Different Lens: Contactless Connections” series, we will explore the role of the director, actor, cinematographer and all those in the film world, in building the stories that not only help us see life through a different lens but connect us to new worlds, changed worlds and different worlds, filled with priceless possibilities.
“Film truly has the power to inspire, inform, educate and excite. We are delighted to continue our strong partnership with La Biennale di Venezia, as together, our goal is to help people everywhere unlock the power of cinema. We are connecting people to their passions and also connecting them to Priceless moments by hearing from legends and icons from the world of cinema. Now more than ever, is the time to journey through stories and share experiences to see life through a different lens”, said Rose Beaumont Senior Vice President Business Enablement and Europe Communications, Mastercard.
“This year more than ever, every initiative aimed at welcoming back people to the world of cinema and theatres has a strong value, especially after so many months of lockdown in our homes, even to simply reaffirm the value and the importance of movies and their key role in our lives. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that I greet our partner Mastercard’s proposal to offer the opportunity, to those who will follow La Biennale activities, to join some of the greatest protagonists of contemporary cinema and discover the reason behind their passion, their career choices, the roots to their love for cinema. And through this, foster our vital passion for cinema with new opportunities”, commented Alberto Barbera, Artistic Director of the Venice International Film Festival.
