The Matagarup Bridge zip-line will officially swing into action this Sunday December 5.
Similar to the Matagarup Bridge Climb, which opened in January this year, the zip-line adventure experience will take around 90 minutes and includes a pre-safety briefing before participants ascend around 150 steps up the bridge to the launch platform.
On arrival at the platform, some 35 metres above the Swan River, riders will be connected to the cables before launching off on an exhilarating ride that can reach up to 75 kilometres an hour over the river before landing on Burswood Park foreshore.
The zip-line has been constructed with dual cable lines catering for two riders at a time whilst also allowing riders as young as eight who are over 30 kilograms to participate with an adult guardian.
Tickets for the zip-line start from $99 for the Express Zip and up to $149 for a Zip and Climb package. Both packages include free photos.
Evening zip-line rides are also on offer, giving participants a unique experience of Perth City and its surrounds under colourful night lights.
Those with pre-purchased gift certificates will be given priority, with bookings now open.
General public sales will commence on December 19.

As stated by Transport Minister Rita Saffioti:
“I know many people have been eagerly awaiting the opening and I am so excited that the zip line will officially open this Sunday.
“The team has done remarkably well delivering this project in the middle of a global pandemic – this is a once in a generation project and it was important we took the time to get it right.
“I can’t wait to see people enjoying the view of our Swan River while zipping down from the bridge at almost 75 kilometre an hour!”
As stated by Matagarup Zip+Climb General Manager Ryan Zaknich:
“Building Australia’s longest zip-line has been challenging during COVID, however I’m so pleased to announce that the zip-line is ready to open and operations will commence this Sunday, December 5.
“We’d like to thank the people of Perth for their patience and understanding while waiting for the zip-line to open, and we will be doing our best over the coming weeks to give those with pre-purchased gift certificates priority bookings.”
